Upstairs Lobby

It was rather breathtaking thing to see. All the decor, details on every corner.. it’s sad that people don’t put this much effort (and money) to build something these days.

요즘에 화려한게 땡겨서 그럴지도… 근데 너무 이쁘다… 저런디자인에 머리핀이 있다면 샀을지도..;;

There are two chandeliers in the theater. One of them is original and another one is made new…recently ( still pretty old I believe)

I believe this is the old chandelier.

The new one has a bluer glass. Old ones have not-so-bright blue because it was always hard to make the true blue glass.
(It looks more like turquoise)

OH GOD.. seriously, it just looks “not too high” on that.. but i was sitting on the second story and I thought if I tripped and fell over, I would totally just die!
진짜.. 계단 올라갈때 정말 엉금엉금 기어 올라가도 될 정도인데다가 아찔…하단걸로 말이 설명이 안되는 그런 높이였어..

This was the first time I’ve watched silent film in the actual theater. I was a little skeptical thinking I might not enjoy it as much, but i actually did…probably a lot more than regular movie. It gives you some room for imagination and I really liked that. Yes it’s a move and they have sets and such, but the voice part is left for imagination..

There were also an organ played by an actual person(!!!) all throughout the movie. The person (I forgot their name) explained that they changed music from the original score because “it’s never the best choice for the movie” and I can’t agree nor disagree because I haven’t heard the original score, but the music was fine. When they first started they told the audience that they hooked up the organ to a computer so that it will play by itself, but except the short demo there were no computers playing music, it was the actual organ player.

정말 왜 지금시절에도 silent movie 를 보는지.. 더욱 자주 보고싶은 느낌이었다. 감수성이 풍부한.. 게다가 나름대로의 joke 도 의외로 웃긴.. well, slapsticks are always funny in any year. it’s cheesey funny, but it works.

I was looking for screen caps for the actual movie but couldn’t find any.. people there… I mean it’s the time, they look like those 1920s magazine models. It was quite amusing, and hilarious at the same time.

Peter Pan is always played by a girl, and this Peter Pan looked too much like a girl… just with no boobs. The acting was kitschy but adoring.

얼굴이 쫌 화딱화딱 한다… 써놓은 이멜을 보내고 나서 읽어보니까… 아 내가 글을 이렇게 횡설수설 못쓰는구나 -_-;; 하고..
All my friends tell me that I write like how I speak. I speak in tangents. Gees, I’m as bad as Susie and her letters.
이말쓰다가 저말쓰다가.. 어쨌든 고맙다는 말을 쓰려는거였는데 막 설명을 같이 해줘서 웬지 그거에 보답 (???) 해야할것같아서
쓰다보니까 웬 말이 이렇게 많아….I said thank you, but it seemed like it wasn’t enough. And I started to write stuff…and I gave her my blog address,
and I’m thinking….why did I? My blog sucks compared to hers.

네이버처럼 수신확인 기능에, 수신취소까지 있으면 너무 좋을것 같다 -_- I wish gmail had that feature. How many emails do we send out
without thinking about it? How many angsty, nasty mails that we can retrieve back and wished that the other person never read them?

Anyhoo, So for the first time in my life, I got something off of somebody’s blog!!!
Her name is Anna Kim ( I believe, maybe it’s not her real name?) and I found her blog only because I was crazy about New York and was rather
“home sick” (not true… but i do feel like NY’s my home) about the place.
She’s really into finding out about historical backgrounds of things… I wish she would write in english, then there would be so many blog followers…
and probably she would gather more information at the same time.

So going back to my point, I got a ticket to see 1924 Peter Pan at the historical Orpheum theater in central LA.
I never even go to LA. My life these days consists of…
going to work, coming back, eat, working out and sleep…repeat until Friday.
On Friday I go to ceramics. Saturday and Sunday is my rest day, or cleaning day. (UGH)
My life… it’s down to such a basic… I need to get out.

I know I really wanted to go (do 문화생활 cultural ? activities?) and I know I’m gonna suffer the day after. Movie ends at 10 ish and my bedtime is 9PM.

But it’s something different, right? I just need to get out and live a life. That’s why Kelly tells me I need to move to LA!

And we find ourselves in heart of gay-town in LA. Personally, I’ve never been to straight clubs, bars, etc… and never to gay bars and clubs. There were people holding hands, or more, gals and gals, guys and guys, everywhere.

What, you thought I would put up gay/lesbian picture? If I had 'em, I would.

Yul started to talk about how her sister went to the gay club to dance with her friends.
but I thought it was really funny that she said ” that” club. She refuses to say the word “gay” or ” lesbian” because she says it’s profiling and it’s not PC.

I understand where she is coming from, and she doesn’t want to offend me nor Shaa. Since she experienced racial profiling, she doesn’t want to do the same to other, what one might consider different, people.
And as much as I appreciate the fact that she think of me and she is concerned with every word she say…and trying so much not to offend me in any way (which I am not), I find it really really funny that she says, “A  went to ‘that’ club with her friends…” instead of saying ” A went to GHEI club.”

Thank you for being considerate. 근데 쫌 웃긴다~

Another thing is that I was the one who was going thru a culture shock at WeHo.

I know I am part of what they call ‘family’ but I still feel so shocked (funny huh?) to see openly gay people in public. It was a lot fun though..
Weekend nights, a lot of pretty dressed up gay people holding hands and everything.. I felt kinda out of place — maybe because I’m such a country girl.
I feel like I would never be that type — going out on Sunday (!! do these people work on Monday or what?) night to drink- to be drunk – get hooked up- looking for one night stand- or whatever… Or even dress up that nice… (mostly I can’t afford to)

Well, that was our little adventure, and I was awkward to be there with Yul. Maybe I was more awkward than Yul!
Hopefully someday, I would be more comfortable between gays, instead of the straights… or more like comfortable in my own skin,
and not be awkward nor surprised with public display of affection among gays. I mean, I’m one of them! I shouldn’t be thinking that way!!!

Today I thought that I had too much time leftover after getting ready for work and decided to put on some mascara for the first time.
I thought, ” well, this is the FIRST time I’ll ever wear mascara for longer than 3 hours, how bad can it be?”

I got to work pretty early, it only took 30 minutes. Probably all the people who gets Friday off for Easter is heading to somewhere fun, just not to work on 91West.
It’s 12:14pm… and my eyes feel…dry? funky… is all I can say. My eyelids feel like I put Elmer’s glue on them. They are not quite heavy, but I feel like if I blink a little too often, it will get stuck together and I would never be able to open my eyes again.
And I would blink and my eyes would be blurry!!! UGH…

I don’t think I’ll wear mascara to work anymore.

We got a hair cut, I finished my scrapbook. Yay! It’s been like, 5 years since we went to San Francisco and I finished the scrap book from back then!!

1. 옛날 사진들을 엄마가 정리해서 버린다, 나눈다 해서…버렷다가 쓰레기통에서 줍다. 거의 60장을 스캔한듯…I labeled them, and put them to according folders.
참… 앳된 모습이란 ㅎㅎ; 난 참 친구도 많았는데. 다 어델갓노? I burned bridges. Oh well..

2. 운동화를 사려고 했는데 그깟 운동화에 (얼마나 편하다구) 몇백불이나 쓰는게 엄청! 엄청 아까워졌다. 그냥…. 대충 온라인에서 살까 생각중이다.

3. I want to buy pitcher, thermometer and tamper from amazon.com. My mom’s prime membership ends today. Should I order these? 좀 … 돈낭비 같기도 하구.

떡밥…떡밥… 음..낼 일할 준비나 해야하는데.

It’s at a good company, but it’s a company that furnishes the studios I wanted to work at. I would totally try to make connections, but I can’t because
the company itself only deals with dealers and reps.
The owners seem nice (my future boss) and they know how to treat people right, so I can’t really complain about that.

I’m glad… I’m really glad.

Now the list of what to do when I get a job..

어이구야 힘들어라..

I’m trying to pay off my bill asap so I’m not sure how this will work out.

First, stuff I want to buy…

1. running shoes or converse
2. mani and pedi (but now I think of it, it feels like a waste of money)
3. dark wash gap jeans
4. some nice tops
5. a haircut and brow grooming

And I need to ( more like obligation) buy people food, and this will happen in an increment of time,
there’s Yuri, Eli (this is more like a thank you for NY stay), my family ( I wanted to get crabs and eat it at home but there’s Jae..)
I decided to buy something for Ken and Jane for Ken’s birthday.

……….that’s a lot of money. I’m thinking it might end up being 400 – 500 dollars. Gosh, and I’m thinking of moving out, saving up ( not necessarily in that order)
paying all my bills…(which will take about, like, wut… 5-6 months?)

I think before I do any of these stuff listed, I should pay off my bills first. I know I gotta live, but man…

My work starts at 29th! Now back to scrapbooking…
